well, that was fun.

Good evening.

I'd like to post tonight about the sad reality that we know as The Holidays. As we are all aware, The Holidays bring a huge sigh of relief to almost everyone. For many, they are comprised of an extended period of time doing absolutely nothing at all other than relaxing, socialising, eating, sleeping and excreting. This is completely and utterly true.

See, some people (namely myself), like to make stupid statements such as: "WOW! Now it's The Holidays, I'm going to do all the things I couldn't do before due to time restrictions because of school/exams/term-things.", and make lists of things, mainly constructive, to use up all this spare time ahead. The ONLY things I've managed to do so far this holidays is catch up with a couple of friends, hang with John and buy a couple of birthday prezzies for various people. (and while we're on the topic - happy birthday to Mitch Dalby :D)

The rest of the time though, I've pretty much neglected and abandoned the aforementioned lists and sat on my bum all day doing bugger-all. And damn does it feel good ;D I mean sure, congratulations to anyone who has actually managed to get something constructive and/or creative done so far these holidays, but in reality its like a vicious cycle. In The Holidays we tell ourselves we're going to do all the stuff we couldnt in term time, but then we get lazy and dont do anything we said we would. So then we tell ourselves that we'll quit being lazy and do all that stuff once term starts, to give us less motivation to be lazy then. But then we have to many school-related shenanigans to get done, and tell ourselves that once we have time (in The Holidays) we'll do all that stuff we said we'd do in the term that we said we'd do in the last set of The Holidays.

-sigh-, life is tragic.

But on a seperate note, I recently added to my Yoshi/Mario-related-merch collection. Newest addition is Medium Green Yoshi, at the back in the centre.

ALSO - I finally bought the new ADTR album, What Separates Me From You. I have literally no words to describe how amazing this album is. ADTR, namely Jeremy McKinnon, are legends. Jeremy's lyrics are obviously from the heart, making them all the more empathiseable (if that isn't a word, it is now). The composition of the instruments accompanied by Jeremy's voice completely melt me. This goes for all their albums: One of the things I love most about ADTR is that I can understand the screaming, and its perfectly balanced. Not too much, not too little, just right. I can honestly say that if marrying their music (or Jeremy) and bearing its/their children were possible, there would be nothing stopping me.

Anyway, enough for tonight, for it is nearly tomorrow.

Over and Out,
=that gen person=
